Pornsak: The Family Cook off

Pornsak is a Thai-Chinese who came to Singapore when he was young. Although he could not speak a word of English or Mandarin when he first arrived, the talented host is now fluent in both languages.
Pornsak has a bubbly personality, and his unique and zany hosting style not only makes him stand out among the rest, but also won him the Best Newcomer award in Star Awards 2007. His ability to think out-of-the-box and switch effortlessly between Mandarin and English makes him a popular choice for hosting bilingual and multi-cultural events.
Pornsak is a well-known gourmet lover in Singapore. He has hosted top-rated food shows such as Dialect Delights, Supermum Kitchen and Sizzling Woks.
In 2010 he toured the world to search for the best ingredients in dishes in the hit show 'Food Source'. Whipping up mouth watering dishes using local ingredients.
Now the expert in food, he most recently set up his own Thai restaurant 'Porn's', to bank on his forte in cooking.

新加坡人爱美食，8个家庭参与厨艺竞赛，突显我国的文化融和，争夺澳大利亚旅游奖！
新加坡人爱美食，8个家庭参与厨艺竞赛，突显我国的文化融和，争夺澳大利亚旅游奖！
新传媒8频道综艺节目《妙厨家族大比拼》，吸引了百多人参加，经过严格的选拔，评审终于挑出8个家庭一较高低。
他们背景各异，有擅长中法混式料理的"Cotton Bleu"、富有本地特色的"The Rojaks"与热爱印度香料的"The Curry Cooks"等。
节目共8集，在每集节目中，两个家庭会利用指定食材，进行3轮的厨艺挑战。最后，身为常驻评审的知名美食评论家Fay Khoo，将为每道佳肴评分，获得最高分的家庭将能晋级到下一回合。
主持过不少美食节目的Pornsak，及同样喜欢做菜的知名国际主持人Asha Gill，将首度合作主持。

Family Cook Off premieres on Mediacorp TV Channel 8 at 8pm Fridays, from 22 October to 10 December; an Eight-part TV series which will see eight families from Singapore compete against each other in a celebration of cultural diversity.
The series produced by Brand New Media with local production company Beach House Pictures, will be hosted by favourite local MediaCorp artiste Pornsak and well known international host Asha Gill who both share a passion for cooking and Singapore's diverse range of cuisine.
The premise for the competition is simple. In each episode, two families will go head to head in three 20 minute 'Cook Off's' using mandatory ingredients to create their masterpieces. At the end of each cook off, Fay Khoo, renowned food writer and our resident food critic and judge, will taste and score each dish. At the end of the third cook off the family with the most points wins and will go through to the semi-finals.

Pornsak host 才华横溢出 Most Impressive Star at Star Search Press Con…

You have recently read on newspaper that Pornsak host this press conference.
And back to the superstar at the press con – Yes, Pornsak was the real superstar at the press con! It was also the first time journalists applauded at a press con (not once but many times) showing their admiration for Pornsak. Many couldn’t hide their surprise and commented that Pornsak has indeed evolved into a real 大将, got potential of becoming the new Ah-Ge of the hosting arena… You will be able to catch Pornsak soon as he returns with his best pal 李腾 Lee Teng in 煮炒来了 Sizzling Wok (Season 2) from 11.11.2010 (Thursday 8pm on Ch 8). He will also start shooting ‘食在好源头Food Source 2′ this month (in time to cover Autumn and Winter followed by Spring and Summer)and will telecast in mid 2011.
